I'm Building Again

Hello hello! 

I’m so thrilled to be sharing a really exciting announcement with you today! 

Before we hop into it, I also wanted to try something a little new and leave you a voice note explaining the announcement in more detail … let me know what you think about this format.

Introducing: Within 💚

I’m building again! 🌱

This fall I’ll be launching Within, a coaching, content and community platform for purpose-led founders and startup leaders. 

If there’s one thing I learned from 5+ years of building and burning out from a startup, it’s that entrepreneurship is an all-consuming, whole heart, mind, body and soul journey. It pushes you to the brink of what you think you’re capable of and forces you to come to face yourself on a deeper level. 

When it’s approached with self-awareness and intentionality, it can be an incredibly meaningful and transformative experience. 

Today I’m building the company I deeply craved when I was a leader at The GIST. A company that can support founders at the intersection of entrepreneurship, spirituality and personal development, on topics like:

• How our limiting beliefs and unhealed trauma keep us from stepping into the leaders we need to be to successfully build, fund, scale and ultimately execute on our visions.

• How we can cultivate a relationship with ourselves that raises our self worth and where we can come to trust our own intuition.

• How to accomplish our ambitious goals while staying in integrity with our values, without burning ourselves out.

These are just a few examples of areas I wish I’d had more information, support and expansion in as a founder. And a community of like-minded leaders doing the inner work alongside me.

I feel incredibly energized and aligned in this mission and I’m so excited to get started. 

Also… I’m A Coach! 💁‍♀️

The first coach of the Within platform will be… me!

I’ve actually been pursuing my coaching certification with Wayfinders Life Coach Training by Martha Beck since March and will be fully certified in December.

You may have noticed from these newsletters that I’m low-key obsessed with everything personal development-related, and that I’ve been on one hell of a healing journey myself. 

Burning out from my own company was an event that made me take a pretty hard look in the mirror and start to delve deeper into my own inner work, a process I wish I’d taken more seriously long ago.

Pretty early in my burnout recovery ‘The Way of Integrity’ by Martha Beck was recommended to me, and her work was exactly what I needed at that moment. It guided me in such a big way to start to find my purpose again after grieving parting ways with my company and my identity as an active co-founder. 

For years, I’ve known I wanted to be a coach after The GIST, I just didn’t know that ‘after The GIST’ would come as soon as it did. And so when I learned Martha Beck offered a coaching program, I knew I needed to be trained in her approach.

Wayfinders beautifully blends Eastern and Western ideologies — sociology, neuroscience, and somatics with spirituality and magic — and guides people to turn inward for the blueprint for their best lives. 

The program is eight months long, it’s wonderfully comprehensive and my peers and instructors are incredible human beings. Every week I practice coaching and being coached, which has been transformational on many levels.

This process has allowed me to better connect with my true self and I’m ready to serve others from this more whole and healed version of myself, while combining my many years of startup experience.

I’m Bringing You Along 🫴

To be completely honest… I still have lots to figure out in launching this platform!

I hesitated to announce what I’m building, wanting to wait until it was “ready”, until I had a more defined niche, more clear messaging, a brand identity, a website, established offerings, etc. 

But I also knew I wanted feedback from this community to inform what I’m building, so that Within can really meet people where they are.

And, I want to be fully transparent about what happens behind the scenes of early business building! I’m really looking forward to sharing more here about my new entrepreneurial journey in building this platform from the ground up. 

I’ll share everything from how I’m building a brand and finding product-market fit, to what I'm learning from my coaching program and my client work, to the technology I'm using to power my platform.

I’m excited to offer a peek behind the curtains on my second round of building a company.
